Frequently Asked Questions
“GiveNow is an Australian platform, with REAL people behind the screen, people who care and support you. Thank you GiveNow!”
– Jyllie, LightnUp
1. What type of organisation can use GiveNow?
We support only Australian-registered not-for-profit organisations. Your organisation must have an ABN and be a registered incorporation (or equivalent) in your state, but you do not need to be a charity or have DGR status.
For more information, see:

2. What services does GiveNow offer?
The key features GiveNow provides include donations (one-off and regular), embedded donation forms, peer-to-peer fundraising, event ticketing, membership registration and renewal, and grant search.
Some of the features are available for Pro Plan users only. For more information, see:
Kindly note that we do not currently offer an online raffle ticket service. We are happy to assist with platform-related fundraising queries via our Melbourne-based support team, but we do not act as fundraising officers, and we don't provide an advisory service.
3. What are the fees to use GiveNow?
To join: There are no fees to join GiveNow. You can sign in and explore the platform for FREE - No sign-up fees, subscription fees, or penalty fees. Simply select a plan that suits your organisation’s fundraising needs - you can change plans at any time.
To use: Once you have a LIVE cause and start to collect donations, the platform fee (1.5%-3.5%) kicks in, depending on your choice of plan. You can opt in for donors to cover that fee for you.
There is also a small transaction fee charged by our local payment provider, which is much lower compared to PayPal/Stripe/Square fees.
For more information, see:

4. How does GiveNow compare to other platforms?
GiveNow is Australia’s first all-in-one online fundraising platform, established in 2001. We provide all the key tools small to medium-sized not-for-profit organisations need for online fundraising, with the lowest fees in Australia.
We are also 100% Australian-owned and operated, with no lock-in contracts or hidden costs.
You can learn more about how we compare to other platforms in this article: Comparison of online fundraising platforms for Australian not-for-profits and charities
5. How many causes can an organisation have?
Starter and Basic Plans: Up to two active cause pages at any time — typically one general cause and one targeted campaign.
Pro Plan: Unlimited active cause pages.
For more information, see:

6. Should I embed the GiveNow donation form on my website?
Hosting on a subdomain works much like using a third-party platform — donors see a different URL and page layout. It is therefore much better to embed the form on your website, so that donors stay on your site without being directed to a different page. Embedded donation forms is the gold standard for maximising donation value and conversion rates.
Kindly note that this is a feature available to Pro Plan users only. You can change your plans anytime on the platform, and it will take effect immediately. There are no lock-ins or penalty fees involved.
7. How do I embed the donation form on my website?
Organisations on GiveNow’s Pro Plan can embed donation forms directly on their own websites. It is mostly copy and paste — just insert a short code snippet onto the correct section of your website.
For more information, see How do I embed a donation form on my organisation’s website?
You can also customise your embedded form to match your site’s branding.

8. What reporting is available on GiveNow?
- Donation reporting: Printable donation reports are available on your overview page.
For more information, see: Donations overview page
- Data for your own reporting: You can export all donor and donation details, plus peer-to-peer supporter activity, via CSV or Zapier integration.
For more information, see: How do I download our donation and donor data?
"GiveNow is well suited to small Australian charities, gives the best portion of donator's money to the organisation when I did a comparison study, good UX/UI for what we need, gives all reporting requirements and great dashboards, simple to use, doesn't require Paypal/stripe setup which has extra admin and fees."
